This chapter examines the process of Kalahandi's (a princely state) colonisation. It unravels the manner in which the colonial terror strikes disrupted the life of the tribals and outcastes. It highlights how the combined forces of colonialism and the internal exploiters reinforced the agrarian crisis and caused serious dislocations for the livelihood of the people and the environment.
